POSITION SUMMARY:Ensure that all guests are served to the hotel standard in around the pool areas. Display highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times within all food and beverage areas.Takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) Food and Beverages to guests as per the Hotels standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner.Clean and prep bar, take orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks to guest. All must be carried out courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications. Maintain stocks/supplies by minimizing waste and bring proper orders so there is no waste on items. Maintain cleanliness of pool and beach, sanitize all beach chairs and small tables, set beach chairs with towels and small tables with menu card, be a responsibility individual in your area, be pro-active and vigilant at all times, collect drinks from bartenders in the bar to ensure all drinks are consistent.QUALIFICATIONS:Hiring RequirementsEssential:- Minimum of 18 years to serve Alcoholic beverages- One-year experience as cocktail waitress or pool attendant- Food handling certificate- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guest, management and co-workers to their understanding- Ability to provide legible communication- Ability to compute basis mathematical calculations.Desirable:- High school Graduate- Certificate in alcohol awareness program- Certified of previous training in liquor and wine serviceKILLSEssential:- Ability to understand guest service needs- Sound knowledge of cocktail recipe cards- Ability to focus on details- Ability to exercise good judgement in determining potentially intoxicated guest- Ability to maintain good coordination while taking drink orders and serving cocktail orders quickly- Ability to exert abundant physical movements throughout the work area- Ability to perform job function with minimal supervision- Ability to work cohesively with co-worker as part of a teamDesirable:- Prior guest relation training.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:- Employee must be punctual and cock in at least 15 minutes before their schedule time- All employees should arrive to work wearing the proper uniform, Sonesta name tag,- Pool servers should pick up all towels from the laundry and bring with them while heading to their workstation.- All beach chairs should be sanitized with Clorox before towels are prep on chairs- All beach chairs should then be prep with towels- All servers should ensure that pool area is clean free of cans plastics bottles, straw papers and other debris and is ready for service.- At no time should servers stand behind the bar and drink in front of guest, or drink in any public area in full view of guest- All beach chairs should be lined up under al umbrellas as per couples with a small table to rest drinks in the middle.- All small tables should have a cocktail menu except told otherwise by your manager/supervisor- All Cabanas should be organized with pillows fluffed and fix properly- All cabanas should be decorated with folded towels in the shape of a swan, bird etc.….- All servers should have their names on tent cards on the tables and cabana and in their section, so the guest knows who their servers are.- All servers should check the kitchen, beach area, pool decks and floors for the glasses so the bartender can have it ready to provide service to the guest around the pool and beach- All pool servers should stand at the entrance of the pool ready to great the guest, introduce themselves to the guest, walk them to the sun loungers, seat them then offer a cocktail.- Pool attendant/servers must always meet, greet, introduce themselves to the guest call them by name and remember their names at all times.- Pool servers must have their trip advisor card with them at all times- Pool servers must be able to obtain at least 3 guest interactions daily- All pool servers must deliver all amenities at the mention time frame- Fruits kebab @ 12:00PM, 2:00PM and 4:00PM- Frozen drink/Granite @ 11:00AM, 1:00PM and 3:00PM- Cold scented towels are as follows:. 9:30AM Edge Pool. 10:30AM Point Pool Deck. 11:30AM Edge Pool and Mist Spray. 12:30PM Point Pool Deck & Mist Spray. 1:30PM Edge Pool & Mist Spray. 2:30PM Point Pool Deck & Mist Spray. 3:30PM Edge Pool & Spray. 4:30PM Point Pool Deck- In between all the special services, drink service must be frequent ticking on clock back and forth at all times to provide exceptional service- All cocktails must leave the bar with the appropriate garnish- All food orders should be place by the telephones to room service and back by same phone to check if food is ready at the given time, if the food is ready that is the only time the pool server should leave the pool area to go pick up the food- All break time will be place on the schedule and will be strictly adhere to- Lunch break is 30 minutes at any given time, any changes has to be authorized by your manager or supervisor- At no time pool service attendant to be seen anywhere else except around the pool- Bathroom break is considered to be anywhere from three to five minutes if you are unaccounted for at any time during your shift and is not consider same as the 30 minutes lunch break, hours of time missing will be deducted from your pay- Service has to be given at all times- At the end of each shift all dirty towels has to be packed away in the trolley and taken to the laundry to be washed and picked up the next morning to start service- All clean towels must be brought back and stock in the towel hut in case of late night swimmers.- All dirty face cold towels have to be dropped off at the laundry, counted and delivered to laundry attendant. Laundry attendant should then sign the log sheet to ensure the amount of towels received to wash. The time of drop off and the time to pick up in the morning will be given to you by the laundry attendant.- All towels once clean should be wet in scented oil, wrapped and place in fridge to be extremely cold for the next day- Towels should be served on small wooden trays with wooden tong to the guest- All pool servers should take note of any broken equipment such as chairs, umbrellas cabanas. Towel trolleys, anything around the pool that needs fixing and should be brought to the manager/supervisor attention, also record it on the pool attendant check list.- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beer and non-alcoholic selections available in assign outlets.- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and major wines on the list- Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware, ingredients, preparation method and garnish for each drink- Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor law regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the resort employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
