Business Analyst – Data & Analytics (Contract – 6 Months)Our client in Hawaii is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a critical analytics and software initiative. This role will lead requirements gathering and process documentation, with a focus on enabling Independent Power Producers (IPPs) through a Databricks-centric solution for Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) calculations and system enhancements for Invoice Management.We’re looking for someone who can bridge business needs with technical solutions, ensuring clear, actionable requirements for development teams while collaborating across stakeholders and technical teams.Key Responsibilities- Lead requirements gathering and process documentation for analytics and software solutions.
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for developers and data engineers.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure alignment with Azure and Databricks architecture.
- Manage backlog items, user stories, acceptance criteria, and testing requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and solution walkthroughs with stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
- Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support change management and training efforts related to new analytics solutions.Required Skills & Experience- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in software development or data/analytics projects (application development experience a plus).
- Hands-on knowledge of data platforms, especially Azure and/or Databricks.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, ETL processes, BI/reporting tools, and analytics workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to write user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure Dev Ops or Service Now.
- Experience engaging with business stakeholders and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.Role Details- Contract Length: 6 months
